Fun Club Recipes

Back to School Cookies!!

Make sure your mom or dad or someone that is experienced in the kitchen will help you.  Please be careful and ask first  to make sure you can cook.  It is always important to be very careful in the kitchen.

Make a delicious sugar cookie recipe.  If you don't have one of your own, here is mine.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 3/4 cups flour

1 tablespoon milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Cream butter and sugar, add egg and mix.  Add remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.   Refrigerate dough for 2 hours.  Roll out the dough with a rolling pin 1/8 inch thick on a lightly floured surface, dip cutters into flour before each use.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake 12 - 15 minutes or until lightly browned.  Place on cooling rack for 5 minutes.

When they are cooled you can decorate them like the American Flag.  If you have other types of cookie cutters you can use those and be creative making red white and blue decorations.

Here is a recipe for frosting:

1 cup confectioners sugar

2 teasopoons milk

2 teaspoons light corn syrup

1/4 teaspoon almond extract

Food coloring

Directions - In a small bowl, stir together the confectioner's sugar and milk until smooth.  Add the corn syrup and almond extract;  mix well.  if icing is too thick, add more corn syrup.  Divide into separate bowls and add food colorings to desired intensity.  Spread on cookies or paint them with a brush.  Yummmm.

Have fun.

Carl's Smoothie Experiment

Carl loves to make different types of smoothies.  He calls it his science experiment drinks.  This one is fruity but kinda gross!!

1 package of fresh strawberries.  Make sure you take the stems off  About 16 ounces.

2 bananas peeled and sliced.

3 cups of ice cubes

1 (16 ounce) container of plain low-fat yogurt.

Blend strawberries, bananas,  half of the ice cubes, and yogurt in a blender on high until smooth.  Add the remaining ice and blend further until smooth again.

Put different types of gross looking things in the smoothie like gummy worms, licorice spiders, and/ or your sugar cookies you just made. One is plenty.

Get a straw and a spoon and sit back to enjoy a disgusting Science Experiment Smoothie American style by Carl.

Write your favorite recipe to share with all of the kids at the Polly Ester Clown Fun Club.  Yummy!!  We will post it right here.
